A planning application has been made for a road widening scheme and a new three storey building to replace the ‘Threshers’ off licence at Bolton Cross in Brixham. This is an important building in a high profile location at the entrance to the town centre. Detailed discussions have taken place with the local authority and English Heritage to ensure a high quality design solution.
Work has now started on site for a new rail control centre at Kingswear Station. The new building will accommodate offices for the Dart Valley Railway who run the heritage steam trains between Paignton and Kingswear. The inspiration for the design comes from Victorian signal box architecture and the intention is to create high quality modern office space suitable for this important local tourism business.
Work is about to start on site for this new 6th form centre for Churston Grammar School. The new facility will provide classrooms, an IT suite, a large common room for this highly successful local school. MTA architects worked closely with the school and other members of the design team to negotiate a contract with a builder to ensure the best value facilities will be achieved.
