This project is for eighty-five "Micro-flats" for students on an urban site in Plymouth.
Each flat is a self
contained unit with a study/bedroom, kitchen and bathroom "pod".
It is likely that much of the building will be constructed from pre-fabricated timber
framed units which will be fitted out in a factory and assembled together on site.
The building includes a surf-board store, a gymnasium, a landscaped roof terrace
and common room at 5th floor level. The elevations are composed of local limestone
at ground floor level with panels of render and locally sourced cedar cladding to
the upper levels.
