House Extension and Refurbishment, Gosport

This existing house on Palmerston Way in Gosport enjoyed a fanatstic aspect to the rear, with views of The Solent. Unfortunately, the rather mundane existing house did not make full advantage of this, so the Client commisioned MTA Architects to carry out substantial alterations including an entirely new roof and two storey rear extension which provides additional high quality accommodation and maximises the sea views. The result is a strong and simple design with lots of glazing and balconies at first and second floor level. Extensive use of 3D computer modelling was used at the design stage to ensure harmony of proportions and convey design ideas and options to the Client. Simple detailing and a limited palate of good quality materials add to the understated but strong quality of the design
