At MTA we are able to provide Clients with a full range of architectural services for both commercial and domestic projects.

This usually includes a free initial consultation, at the start of a project, to establish the important design criteria and allow us to provide a fee quotation. Typically we then provide feasibility studies, concept designs, and drawings for local authority approval under planning and building regulations.

We also offer architectural services to assist in the selection of building contractors, contract administration, site inspections and certifying payment to contractors. The examples shown on this page represent typical information provided for a house extension. Larger projects require other services and more extensive drawings and specifications.

Concept Sketches

We are able to produce 3-D concept sketches to allow clients to visualize proposals and explore different design options. We still produce free hand drawings, but more usually create computer models which inform the design process and allow designs to be viewed from all angles.

It is very important to clearly communicate ideas to our Clients and get the best design from the start.

Building Regulations

The construction of buildings is regulated by The Building Regulations. Our thorough knowledge of these regulations combined with our detailed construction experience allows us to produce drawings for approval by the local authority or other approved inspectors.

These drawings also explain how a building is constructed and so, by nature, contain much more detail than planning drawings.

Planning Applications

New buildings often need planning approval from the local authority.

We can prepare drawings and other documentation which are necessary for these applications. We understand and can help our Clients through the planning process which is often not straightforward.
