The proposals for this project were to design and build a pair of contemporary individual dwellings that integrate seamlessly with the overall pattern of surrounding development so that, at first glance, they do not appear to differ from the properties around them. The use of different materials, textures and juxtaposition of the geometric design is intended to read as a series of separate elements blending together as part of an overall considered form.

 

The roofs have been designed to blend into the townscape so that when viewed from above and from the other side of the valley, they form part of the patchwork of ”green areas” of gardens and terraces which are currently present on these sloping hillsides.
