The Grove Housing & Commercial Development, Seaton
The Grove is a commercial and residential development that has helped enhance a rundown area of Seaton town centre, promoted local business opportunities, improved community and recreational activities and provided five new family homes.

The new commercial building consists of retail units on the ground floor, open studios for both gym and fitness on the first floor and a series of office suites for local businesses on the second floor. Large areas of glazing help to enliven the location on the lower floors and provide a pleasant working environment on the top floor with views that extend out over Seaton sea front. The new commercial building has taken its reference from the great seaside pavilions from the turn of the century.

The building was designed to maximise as much natural light as possible with large areas of thermally efficient glazing with a south and east aspect. The building fabric is highly insulated and also utilises a heat recovery system offering environmentally friendly renewable energy.
